Date Night with Yourself
We can get so busy that we lose touch with ourselves. Sometimes, we just need a date night with ourselves. i know when to stop everything, to be with myself, when i feel like i am all over the place. i ask myself if i'm present. If i'm not, i change my plans for the evening to just be. Heres what a date night with myself can look like: Last night, i lay on my bed watching the wind in the tops of the trees. i made myself an enormous salad and ate half of it out of the bowl with the huge serving spoon. i looked up a photo from today of Venus crossing the Sun. i did dishes and randomly scrubbed things like the stove top. Then, i walked in my yard in the dark between the aspen saplings, feeling my way through the little grove. i weeded out any aspens that were in the way of my flow as i moved among them. By the time i slipped into bed, i felt fulfilled and magical. Then, i jumped up to write down this wonderful landscaping idea that came to me! i lay back down and felt happy and at peace. It's that simple. An evening with yourself, can bring your soul back down into your body if you are getting out there or off-balance, scattered or stressed. The thing you want to be most aware of is yourself, so be sure not to get on the phone or get pulled into t.v. or any outside stimulation. When you stop everything to just be, you allow your soul to settle back into your body until you feel like yourself again.
